These are five siblings’ hands cast together as a memory of the eldest boy who was terminally ill with not much time left. We were contacted by the family to do this for them at very short notice. When time is of the essence we’ll drop everything to get the job done. Due to his immobility they were unable to come to us so we went to their home the next day and took the mould.
The resulting cast is a tender reminder of their brother which I imagine is very comforting for the other children and will be something they can treasure. It’s a physical reminder they can touch and in that regard can be so much more meaningful than a photo.
